EXT [Procura interna] is part of the project [rm] Ready Made, a series of sound pieces in which I haven’t play a huge role, they are just raw recordings of sounds emitted by a machine. The machine in question is a device from the late eighties that was intended to modify brain waves to relax, relieve stress, etc. The enterprise that built the machine was closed at the beginning of the nineties by a court order. They were accused of misbranding and selling pretended medical devices without the... Topics: sound, sound art, machines, relax, stress, brain waves
Raining in A Coruña recorded from a seventh floor. The microphone was pointing at a inner courtyard. Topics: field recording, phonography, soundscape, sound art, soundmap, radio, ephemeral, listening, radio...
"Stereoscopic laid is an experiment in sound. What you are hearing are not 'sounds', but in fact are 'images'. The idea behind this album was to generate sound tracks equivalent to stereoscopic images, in which you see a slightly different point of view of the same scene with each eye, creating the illusion of depth. The process was really simple, I chose for each track an image and I generated two similar versions with a minor deviation, similar to the perspectives that both eyes... Recorded at Plaza George Orwell in Barcelona, a square famous for its surveillance cameras. It seems a joke, but its real. Topics: field recording, phonography, soundscape, sound art, soundmap, radio, ephemeral, listening, radio...
Experimental electronic music generated from different sound sources (musical instruments, digital synths, voices, noises...), sequenced and recorded live. "Sometime ago I decided to read a book by James Joyce entitled Finnegans Wake, a work that is quite strange and doesn¹t make any sense. At the same time I was experimenting with several computer softwares that manipulate sound. The results of that experiments were quite meaningless, I was just testing different things with different... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Experimental, Abstract
About: "Out of our nor eastern sparkling sea city comes damaged free psych swim and spaced out inward clean streams of meaning nothing is everywhere all the time, the way this one rolls from the out it is more space than signifier, all growling gentle sines and filters, building their temple a wide mind upon waves of schism and perfect void." For a large class of inhomogeneous interacting particle systems (IPS) on a lattice we develop a rigorous method for mapping them onto homogeneous IPS. Our novel approach provides a direct way of obtaining the statistical properties of such inhomogeneous systems by studying the far simpler homogeneous systems. In the cases when the latter can be solved exactly our method yields an exact solution for the statistical properties of an inhomogeneous IPS. This approach is illustrated by studies of... We study ergodic properties of a family of traffic maps acting in the space of bi-infinite sequences of real numbers. The corresponding dynamics mimics the motion of vehicles in a simple traffic flow, which explains the name. Using connections to topological Markov chains we obtain nontrivial invariant measures, prove their stochastic stability, and calculate the topological entropy. Technically these results in the deterministic setting are related to the construction of measures of maximal... Source: http://arxiv.org/abs/1210.2236v1
To study the convergence to equilibrium in random maps we developed the spectral theory of the corresponding transfer (Perron-Frobenius) operators acting in a certain Banach space of generalized functions. The random maps under study in a sense fill the gap between expanding and hyperbolic systems since among their (deterministic) components there are both expanding and contracting ones. We prove stochastic stability of the Perron-Frobenius spectrum and developed its finite rank operator... Source: http://arxiv.org/abs/nlin/0106030v1
By means of a novel variational approach we study ergodic properties of a model of a multi lane traffic flow, considered as a (deterministic) wandering of interacting particles on an infinite lattice. For a class of initial configurations of particles (roughly speaking satisfying the Law of Large Numbers) the complete description of their limit (in time) behavior is obtained, as well as estimates of the transient period. In this period the main object of interest is the dynamics of `traffic... Source: http://arxiv.org/abs/nlin/0101051v1
By means of a novel variational approach and using dual maps techniques and general ideas of dynamical system theory we derive exact results about several models of transport flows, for which we also obtain a complete description of their limit (in time) behavior in the space of configurations. Using these results we study the motion of a speedy passive particle (tracer) moving along/against the flow of slow particles and demonstrate that the latter case might be more efficient.
